Cricket 14-12-04
With one week to go until the Christmas break all three senior teams have had a successful first half of the season.
A grade are sitting on top of the ladder, still undefeated. Batting first against South Gawler last week, we set a total of 6 for 189 on a huge oval with a slow outfield. Matt Beazleigh led with the bat scoring 73. Jon Durrant picked up 47 and Chris Oakley 39. South Gawler could only manage to scrape to 95 against the bowling attack of Carey Payne 4 for 28, Brad (Jonte Rhodes) Ryall 3 for 7 and Kenny McConnell 2 for 29.
B grade set Parafield Gardens a target of 229. Richie Smith the best with the bat scoring 61 and Alexander Haughey batting very well for his 50 not out. Grant Richardson picked up 4 for 18 with his slow stuff while Danny Masefield and Dave Boulton took three wickets each.
C grade had a washout so the boys came down to Gawler and watched the a grade over a few beers. This Saturday the A grade play at home against ATCO.
After the match there will be a barbecue tea. All are welcome to come along and have tea at the club and then watch a band play afterwards. Cost is $5 a head for a feed and a beer, see you there.

After six rounds the A grade are undefeated, having now played three two day games and three one dayers. This leaves the As clearly o top of the ladder with three more games to go before the christmas break.

Carey Payne is having a wonderful season so far both with bat and ball, he has been well supported by Bradley Banks who is having a good year behind the stumps and with the bat and Kenny McConnelL is his ever reliable self.

B Grade under the leadership of Darren Knox are sitting fifth having won three and lost three.

C grade have won four and lost two, Bryan Gatto has been leading this side comprising of mostly footballers out for a hit over the summer.

Cricket 17-10-04
This weekend saw the completion of the first round of the season for the senior sides.  There were some favourable results for the club, winning two out the three games played.  Our A grade side now in grade 2 took the points against South Gawler, with Durrant scoring 29 in our 7/142 dec. performance.
The B grade in grade 3 also had a very good win in their match against PGCC scoring a very healthy 218 with Smith 95 and Latrobe 38 n.o..  PGCC only managed 122 in reply in a great effort by the Demons.
Our C grade, in grade 7, did not fair so well in their match against Sandy Creek.  They were unfortunately beaten convincingly but they boys can only get better from here.
The Juniors began their season on the weekend with the Under 11s getting handed their match on a forfeit.  U13b did not bat but kept Brahma Lodge to 110.  The U13d side was sensational in their 1st innings scoring 6/360, making it difficult for ATCO to get back from their.   The Under 16s also batted well in their match against Smithfield score an impressive 5/248.  Go Little Dees.

It came down to just two teams representing Eastern Park in the last game of the season, our B grade and our under 15s who have played brilliantly all year to make the Grand Final.   The Bs went down to Alberton and took on SMOSH in cold but mainly fine conditions. The Dees were unfortunately no match for SMOSH going down by 36 points in the relatively low scoring game.
Our under 15s played their Grand Final on Sunday and met Walkerville down at Prospect Oval.  There were heaps of supporters from our club who made the trip down to really get behind our boys.  In a high standard game Walkerville got off to a good start and although our boys battled hard all day they were unable to close the gap going down by 24 points in the end.  The boys missed a lot of opportunities in front of goal which cost us in the end.  A great season by the boys who should be proud of their efforts.

Congratulations to Tristan Russell on reaching the 150 junior game milestone in this year's under 15 Grand Final.  Tristan is seen right wearing his 150th medallion and receiving congratulations from his coach Scott McGee.

Eastern Park still had four teams playing in finals this weekend.  Our B and D grades were the only senior sides to make it this far with the A's bowing out last weekend.  The B grade took on Sacred Heart OC at the Norwood Oval and came away with a great win.  The Demons were in front all day and were never troubled by a out of sorts SHOC.  Great defence by the Dees kept the opposition to 2 goals for the game.  The final margin 46 points in the relatively low scoring match.  Congratulations to Brian Gatto who played his 100th game for Eastern Park on Saturday.  Grand Final Next week.  Go Demons!!
The D grade were not as fortunate in their do or die final with Tea Tree Gully. In another relatively low scoring match the Ds were unable to match it with TTG going down by 18 points.  A great season by the Lads and it was fantastic to see them make the finals and perform well.
It was a grand final for our under 17s this Sunday and not all went to plan.  In a thrilling, close, hard fought match played at the Salisbury Oval it was Hope Valley who came away with the flag.  The lads started well and looked as if they could keep Hope Valley at bay, but a late run in the final quarter saw them edge in front.  Things were extremely tight and an opportunity to win the game after the siren was unfortunately not to be. The 17s going down by a 4 point margin.  A great effort by the lads who should be congratulated for their efforts this year.
Our Under 15s ventured down to Hectorville to take on Hope Valley in a Preliminary Final.  In an awesome display the 15s absolutely annihilated the opposition in an emphatic fifteen goal win.  The boys started well and were up ten goals to three at half time.  They continued in the second half with good hard running footy keeping the opposition goalless.  Walkerville next week in the Grand Final and Hopefully a flag.

Congratulations to under 15 player Adrian Goodchild who played his 150th junior game for the Eastern Park Football Club this weekend.

Eastern Park's A grade final's campaign came to a abrupt end this weekend when they were totally annihilated by Prince Alfred OC in the 2nd semi final played at Payneham.  Prince Alfred came out with all guns blazing to kick 11 unanswered goals in the first quarter.  The Demons matched PAOC in the second quarter when kicking with the wind, but from the main break on, Eastern Park were never in the game.  PAOC kicked a further 17 goals in the second half to absolutely thrash a lack lustre and heartless Eastern Park.  The demoralising  defeat was a body blow for the club and all of its supporters.  A disappointing way to finish the season.  Div 3 again next year.
The B grade ventured down to SMOSH West Lakes to play the home team in the 2nd semi final.  I was not a great day for the boys going down by 27 points.  The demons were in the game up to three quarter time but SMOSH had the wind in the last quarter to get them over the line.  The B's have one more chance next week against Sacred Heart.
EPFC's D grade went down to Colonel Light Gardens and came away with a great win downing the home team by 18 points.  The D's will meet Tea Tree Gully again this week and hopefully this time they will knock them off to earn a grand final appearance.
A better effort by our under 17s who played Modbury at Salisbury Oval on Sunday.  With 20 more scoring shots the 17s were in front all day and never looked like losing.  Great effort lads although kicking will have to improve in the Grand Final.
The under 16s and 15s both made it through to the finals in the NEMJFA finishing 3rd and 2nd respectively.  The 16s went down to Pooraka where they played Tea Tree Gully in a 1st semi final.  Unfortunately they were unable to come a way with the win although they matched it with TTG for most of the game.  A great year, boys and congratulations on making the finals.
The 15s met archrivals Walkerville in their 2nd semi clash and tensions were high on both sides both on and off the field.  The boys started well and in a high standard game were 5 points down at half time.  A couple of free kicks going Walkerville's way along with a couple of goals in the third threw our lads off their game going down by 38 points in the end.

Football Milestones  29-08-04
Congratulations to Troy Gatto who today played his 200th junior game for the Eastern Park Football Club.  Troy is only the second player in the club's history to achieve this milestone. He now joins A grade player and Div 3 medal winner Matty Paul in this fantastic achievement.
Troy Gatto wearing his 200th game medallion receives a handshake from his Under 17 coach  Dougie Walters.

Also Congratulations to Aaron Johnston from the U17s and Chris Lewis from the U15s for playing their 100th game for the Eastern Park Football Club.

Football 22-08-04
Salisbury Oval was the venue for the Div 3 qualifying final clash between Eastern Park and Sacred Heart OC.  In a lack lustre and ill disciplined performance the Demons were outplayed by a team that came out to win.  SHOC were hard at the ball and were great in defence, repelling Eastern Park's attacks time after time.  They ran the ball out of defence well and were able to find targets up forward defeating Eastern Park soundly in the end by 33 points.
In the early game the B grade soundly defeated SHOC in an outstanding performance.  In what was club legend Scott McGee's 350th game, the Demons showed their class winning by 38 points to face SMOSH next week in a battle for a spot in the Grand Final.
The Ds ventured down to Mitcham to take on Tea Tree Gully in a qualifying final.  The Demons led all day up to half way through the last quarter when the Gullies put on a few quick goals to take out the game by 13 points.
For all the results use the Results>Senior Football menu.
The under 17s played their 2nd semi final at Salisbury North Oval against  strong rivals, Hope Valley.  The Eastern Park Demons were good early and had most of the play but were unable to apply score board pressure.  Hope Valley clawed their way back into the game at took it out in the end defeating EPFC by 25 points.
A number of wins this week for the junior sides with success in the 8s(Blue), 10s, 12s and 16s. The 13's and 15s with a bye. Another good win by the 16s should see them finish third on the ladder and a give the finals a good shake.  The under 14s finished off their difficult season courageously, and although they didn't win they showed great spirit in their final match of the year.  Well Done Boys !!

This was the last minor round game of the season for our juniors in what has been a good year, our first in the NEMJFA.  Congratulations to all those juniors who have represented the Eastern Park Football Club.  To the Under 15s and 16s, have a great finals campaign and lets see if we can bring home a flag.

Under 10s  17-08-04
The under 10s went down to a "Train with the Crows" afternoon down at West Lakes.  There were over 1200 kids from at least 50 teams of young players from as far away as the Yorke Peninsular, Jervois and the Barossa Valley.  There were lots of different activities for the kids with various competitions run throughout the afternoon.  They ranged from handball and kicking competitions to a club song singing contest. Congratulations to Luke Morris from the EPFC under 10s who won the goal kicking competition, a fair effort considering the number of participants.

Football 15-08-04
The As and Bs went down the road to play Salisbury West at their home ground on Saturday and the Demons had mixed success winning the As but going down in the Bs.  In a hard physical clash the As started well kicking six goals in the first quarter only to let SW kick six in the second but lead by 3 goals at the main break.  The Demons went on to take out the game by a 23 point margin.  The Bs had a lack lustre performance in their game going down by 7 goals in their match.  This is not the form you want with the finals starting next week.
The Cs and Ds were away as well, playing down at West Croydon, in the last minor round game of the year.  Although the Cs went down by 79 points the score did not reflect the way they played. They matched West Croydon physically but just ran out of legs in the end. The Ds continued their good form downing the opposition by 44 points.  The win sees the Ds maintain third spot on the ladder and will see them in finals action.

A number of wins this week for the junior sides with success in the 8s(Red), 8s(Blue),9s, 13s, 15s and 16s. A good win by the 16s should see them get some finals action.  The under 15s win securing second spot on the ladder even with a bye next week.  Bring on the finals.

Football 08-08-04
It was a difficult slog for our As and Bs down at Sacred Heart's ground this weekend.  In heavy conditions our As capitulated to far hungrier Sacred Heart side.  We were outplayed all over the ground and went down by 51 points.  The midfield and the backlines battled all day but the score line said it all.  The Bs suffered a similar fate but their margin was only  8 points.  The boys were shown how to play hard desperate footy and will have to improve as they meet SHOC in the finals in two weeks.
The Cs and Ds were at home this week and the Cs had a tough one against Tea Tree Gully going down by a 72 point margin.  The Cs had made a half a dozen changes to the side from last week and it took them while to get going.  They had more of the play in the second half but it was to no avail.  The Ds flew the Demon flag for the senior sides this week, downing Tea Tree Gully in a close one. A 7 point margin in the end with game record holder, Lindsay Lawrence, playing another great game.

The Under 17s were to line up against Kilburn this week but unfortunately, Kilburn were unable to field a team, forfeiting the game in what was much needed game time in the lead up to the finals.

A number of wins this week for the junior sides with success in the 8s(Red), 9s, 10s, 13s, 15s. A great effort by the Under 14s scoring their first victory for the year in their match against Kilburn

Only the As and Bs had games this weekend with the Cs and D having the bye.  In difficult conditions, both our sides managed wins. The A grade played Old Ignations at their home ground and started slowly, playing some undisciplined footy, to be a couple of goals down at half time.  The second half produced some more accountable and disciplined football with the players showing much more endeavour.  A 15 point win in the end.
The Bs had it easier in their match coming away with a 44 point victory.  Although the lads made hard work of it, they were just too strong for the opposition.

The Under 17s hosted Golden Grove this Sunday at a somewhat wet and cut up Dwight Reserve.  In difficult conditions the boys got it together after last weeks disappointing loss to record a 56 point victory. The win securing top spot on the ladder.

A number of wins this week for the junior sides with success in the 8s(Blue), 9s, 10s, 11s, 14s, 15s. A great effort by the Under 14s scoring their first victory for the year in their match against Kilburn

Another weekend of footy passes and it was another good one for Eastern Park.  The As and Bs were at home at Dwight reserve and although wet, the oval was is reasonable condition for this time of year.  This is more than one can say for Payneham NU who struggled in both the A and B grades.  Our A grade inflicted a "payneful" football lesson on a hapless Payneham side downing them by a percentage boosting 30 goal margin.  The Bs performance was very similar although some poor kicking let us down and consequently the margin was only 15 goals when it should have been a lot more.  Great wins by the Demons.

The Cs and Ds were up against Colonel Light Gardens and the Cs were always going to struggle against an unbeaten Div 7 side containing several ex AFL players.  Although the lads really tried hard all day the were overrun by a superior side. One highlight was DB outmarking Koster and kicking a goal.  The Ds faired much better in their game downing CLG by a tight 7 point margin. The win gives the boys a chance of grabbing third spot on the ladder.  Good Effort Dees!!

The Under 17s stumbled this weekend in what has been a good season so far.  The boys lacked intensity in their match with Central United and gave up a game that they should have won. the lads need to bounce back next week to maintain top spot.
Only three wins and a forfeit this weekend for a juniors with some of them coming up against the top sides. The under 15s being denied a match in a disappointing forfeit by Pooraka.   The 16s had a good close win over Golden Grove at home and showed some good fighting spirit.  Well Done.

Football 18-07-04
What a great weekend of footy for the Eastern Park Football Club, with good wins in all senior grades including the Under 17s.  The As and Bs took a trip down to Athelstone and both had good wins.  The As got off to a slow start but were back in it at half time and powered on through the third quarter to hold a good lead.  They continued this into the last, but had to contend with a hard finishing Athelstone.  It what seemed like an extra long last quarter the Demons held on and with the win regained top spot on the division 3 ladder.  The B's were just to classy for Athelstone downing them by and impressive 15 goal margin.  Great win Demons.

The Cs and Ds hosted St Paul's OS at Dwight Reserve.  The C's had a hard fought win in a close match.  There was nothing in this match all day with Eastern Park being down at every change.  To the boys credit they worked hard and put on 4 goals to zip in the last to come away with the points.  The D's, much like the Bs were just too good for the opposition, coming away with a 95 point win.  Good Effort Dees!!

The Under 17s absolutely annihilated  local rivals, Salisbury at home this Sunday, in a great team performance which cements top spot on the ladder for the boys.  Great effort lads.

Games recommenced this weekend for our juniors in the NEMJFA after a break for the school holidays.  We had some good wins in our 6s, 8s, 15s and 16s.   The 16s 43 point win over Hectorville was great for the lads who had gone down to them twice this year at home by margins of 10 & 15 goals.  Well Done.

Congratulations to Michael Hollis for his 100th game and Matthew Batty for his 50th game for the Eastern Park Football Club.

Eastern Park were at home at Dwight Reserve this weekend playing local rivals Salisbury.  A six goal first quarter with the breeze help the Demons set up the game for a 16 point win.   The B's were down by 4 goals at the last break but in a great last quarter, they stormed home to win by 8 points, almost doubling their own score in the process.  Great win Demons.

The Cs and Ds played Gaza not far away at Argana Park.  It wasn't a great day for the Cs going down by 52 points in the end after relatively good start by the boys.  The Ds were far too strong for Gaza in their clash absolutely thumping them by a 20 goal margin.  Great work Demons.

The Under 17s had a day out in their match against Tea Tree Gully, whipping them by an impressive 130 point margin.  A percentage booster for the lads.  The win is especially sweet after a narrow loss to TTG earlier in the year.  Great effort lads.

There were no games this weekend for our juniors in the NEMJFA, with the exception of the under 11s who played a make up game against Golden Grove.  The opposition too strong for us on this occasion.  Games will commence again next weekend..

Football 04-07-04
The top of the div 3 ladder clash was played this weekend down at SMOSH West Lakes and Eastern Park, unfortunately, were unable to maintain their  top spot.  In difficult windy conditions, Eastern Park struggled against quality opposition and were behind all day.  The Demons going down by 26 points in the end.  The B's however, had a good gutsy win, holding on to beat a strong finishing SMOSH side.  Well Done !
The C's hosted Flinders Uni at Dwight reserve and had a great win.  In a great four quarter performance the Demons ran out winners by 19 points.  The Ds also had a great win, getting home by a whopping 12 goals in an outstanding performance.
The 17s absolutely annihilated Salisbury North at their home ground flogging them by almost 30 goals in a percentage boosting game.  Well done lads.

Once again our juniors competed well against various teams in the NEMJFA, with our 8s, 10s, 11s and 15s coming away with wins.  The juniors are finding the new competition demanding and are trying hard, representing  EPFC with great distinction. Keep it up.

Football 27-06-04
Eastern Park hosted Portland at Dwight reserve on the weekend on an oval that was in surprisingly good condition for this time of year.  The A grade came away with the win, but it certainly was no push over for the first three quarters. The boys were down by a goal at the last break but stormed home with a 9 goal to 1 blitz in the last to end up with a comfortable win.  The B grade continued their winning run with a great 40 point win under the guidance of acting coach, Scott McGee.  The Cs and Ds came up against Houghton Districts with mixed success. The Cs fought bravely in their game and matched it with the opposition for the first three quarters but were unable to bring it home, in the end going down by 40 points,  The D's hammered Houghton in their match winning easily by 12+ goals.  Well done !

Mixed results for our juniors as well this week with some good wins. The 8s,10s,11s,15s,17s all were successful in their matches.  The under 17s cementing 2nd spot on the ladder after their great win over Modbury.

Congratulations go to Nathan Warren this weekend for playing his 150th junior game for the Eastern Park Football Club.  This is a fabulous effort by Nathan who plays in the Under 14's side.  Nathan is the third generation "Warren" to play for EPFC with his grandfather and father both pulling on the Demons guernsey in years gone by.  Well Done!!

Shown left is Nathan being congratulated by his coach and dad Stephen Warren

Also Congratulations to Mathew Carter who played his 100th for the club on Sunday the 27th of June.  Mathew plays in the under 13 side and is pictured in front of huge banner produced by his dad and friends who also have a hand in the production of the banners for the Crows.  Well done to all !!

Congratulations to Chad Spurr who also had a milestone game this weekend reaching 100 games for Eastern Park. Chad plays for the under 15s and celebrated in style with 4 goals to mark this great achievement.

Football 20-06-04
Winter certainly arrived this weekend with cold windy conditions for all of Eastern Park's teams.  The As and Bs ventured down to PAOC's oval and had mixed success with the As going down by 10 points and the Bs taking the points with a 3+ goal win.  The As actually hit the front in the last quarter but were unable to finish off.
The Cs and Ds were at home and unfortunately for the Cs, it was another hard slog, getting thumped by the Wingfield Royals to the tune of 71 points.  The Ds faired better in their game winning by 16 points on an Eastern Park oval that was it pretty good condition for this time of the year.

Well there was no local footy on the Queen's birthday long weekend, for both junior and senior grades so what about a little bit of history. Check out a little piece of Eastern Park's heritage shown below.  The images are scanned from a programme dated 27th August 1967 and a "News" cutting of around the same time. Some of the names on these pictures are still around today.  Good to see some of these old Demons still involved with the club.

alisbury West were the latest victims of the Eastern Park juggernaut.  In a home game, the "A" Demons absolutely annihilated their local rivals by a margin of 134 points in a great four quarter performance. The Bs also performed admirably in the early game winning comfortably by over 11 goals.  A sad day for Salisbury West but a great day for Eastern Park.
The C and D grades played their matches against Henley down at West Lakes this weekend.  The C's performed well in their game and were in it at three quarter time but unfortunately it wasn't to be, going down by 53 points. It was a great effort considering the amount of changes to the side caused through injury.  The D's found the going tough and although they battled hard they were defeated comfortably in the end going down by 86 points.

hat a great weekend for all of our senior sides.  The A grade led the way with a great win over Sacred Heart OC to earn them top spot on the ladder.  In a great seesawing match our side came back from 3 goals down in the third quarter to get home by 2 goals.  The B's also performed well in their match with a big last quarter to take it out by 29 points.  Two big wins against quality opposition.
The C and D grades ventured down to Thebarton Oval and faced the Western Warriors. Both grades playing well and coming away with a win.  In a hard fought match the C grade who were down for most of the game, never gave up and hit the lead with 2 minutes to play, running out winners by 4 points.  The D's did it easy in the end doubling the oppositions score and winning by 37 points.

Eastern Park's junior sides are going well in the new competition and have been a credit to the club.  This week saw wins in the 8s, 9s, 13s, 16s with a forfeit by Golden Grove in the U15s.  Our under 10s were unlucky to go down by a solitary point in a tight match.
Congratulations to Zeke Prime from the under 13's  who played his 100th game this week.  A great effort.   Zeke is seen here  with coaches Brett Rowland (left) and John Durrant after the presentation of his 100th game medallion.

astern Park's A and B grades were at home this weekend and both grades had great wins in their matches against Athelstone.  The A's handed out a 80 point thrashing which could have been a lot worse for the Raggies if our kicking had been more accurate with 24 points scored for the day.  The B's had a great second half, probably their best for the season so far in their 52 point victory.
Poor kicking by Eastern Park's C grade cost them victory in their match against St Paul's Old Scholars.  With 34 scoring shots to 26 the Demons had their chances but were always going to be up against it after a being down 7 goals at quarter time.  The D grade had a close one, going down by a solitary point in a match that could have gone either way.  A great effort Dees.
The 17s went down to Salisbury and although they didn't play all that well, they were still able to come away with the win if only by a couple of goals.

Eastern Park's junior sides are gradually coming to grips with the new association and are doing well.  We had wins in the 15s, 13s, 12s and 8s with only narrow losses in the 16s and 10's.  All sides performing well, so keep it Junior Demons.

alisbury oval was the venue and EPFC were the winners in both the A and B grades this weekend.  The B's had a tight 9 point victory, but the A's did it easy in the end winning by 28 points.  The wins see the A grade in third spot on the ladder with the B's holding down fourth position.  It was a different story for the Cs and Ds who played Colonel Light Gardens this week at home.  The visitors were just too strong and the loss leaves our Cs languishing at the bottom of the ladder.

he A and B grade were at home this round and it was not good news for both of them.  In a couple of good games it was SMOSH West Lakes that came away with the points, downing the B's by 17 pts and the A's by the same margin.  The Cs and Ds ventured down to Flinders Uni and the Ds managed a good win.  The Cs had to deal not only with strong opposition but also malfunctioning sprinklers which came on as the game started.

The Under 17's played Salisbury North at home and hammered them by 20 plus goals. The 12's to 16's played their first matches in the NEMJFA and found the going tough.  The under 15s had a great 175 point win over the Golden Grove Gold.  after a hard fought game.

good weekend for EPFC Div 3 sides with good wins in the As and Bs down at Portland.  The wins sees the A's sitting second on the ladder and the Bs third on percentage only.   The C's and Ds were not as fortunate in their matches but our D's performed admirably at home against much younger opposition.  For all the results use the Results>Senior Football menu.

The Under 17's played Modbury at home and were victorious after a hard fought game.  The game wasn't pretty and some skills were lacking but the lads stuck at it and came away with the win.

astern Park's under 15s had a great Grand Final victory on the weekend, downing ATCO in superb fashion.  The boys held the opposition to 138 with great bowling performances on the Saturday with Holmes taking 3/14, Parry 2/24 and Warren 2/8.  Our batsmen also did Eastern Park proud with Lee making 56 not out, Holmes 39 not out and Grandson 16.  Well Done Demons!

The B and C grade sides were not as fortunate in their semi final matches, both going down in their games on Saturday and Sunday.  In their match,  the B's could only manage 131 in their reply to the 175 total set by Central United.  Great bowling by Ryall in particular with figures of 5/52 provided some hope, but it wasn't to be EPFC's day.   Haughey and Banks with scores of 46 no and 38 respectively showed some fight but with 3 ducks and 5 single digit scores Eastern Park were never in the race.
It wasn't the C grade's day either with One Tree Hill setting a total of 163, our lads simply capitulated scoring a measly 55 runs with only one player, Gatto, with a score in double figures.  A day our boys would rather forget.

t was the first week of finals in the Sunday cricket competition with Eastern Park having mixed success.  Rich Carter's boys came up against North Pines and showed the opposition how to play the game.  North Pines managed 9 for 178 in their allotted overs with most of EPFC bowlers taking wickets.  In return, our lads lost 4 wickets in the run chase, but did it easily in the end surpassing the target in the 35th over. Thomo scoring 50 not out.
Bert's boys however, did not manage to have the same success, going down to Elizabeth Rugby.  The lads only managed 111 in reply to the opposition's 190, but it was a great effort to get the finals.
This weekend saw great wins by our B and C grade sides.  Our B grade had a comfortable win over PGCC, bowling them out for 178 in reply to our total of 218.  The C grade annihilated Smithfield in their match keeping them to 84 and 4/148  in their reply to Eastern Park's 264.  A good season just hasn't materialised for our A grade, suffering another loss at the hands of the Rose & Crown side this weekend.  Lets hope next season will be a better one for our Demons.
Our juniors are all performing well with the U15's for example demolishing Sandy Creek in their match on the weekend, holding them to a combined total of 45 for both innings.  Well Done !!      For all results that have been supplied check the results > cricket menu.

The weather was hot on the weekend but the performance of Eastern Park's A grade was definitely not, in their match against One Tree Hill.  The unimpressive total of 79 was simply not good enough with O.T.H. posting 3/198 in their 1st innings to be well on top in this match.
Our B grade also played One Tree Hill and managed to bowl them out in difficult conditions for 229 and are currently 1 for 9 in reply.  Lets hope the lads can go on and take the points.
The C grade played Willaston in an away game on the weekend and were all out in for 141 in their first innings with the opposition 1 for 55 in reply.  Hopefully some milder temperatures next week will aid the Demons in their efforts to bowl Willaston out cheaply.

A weekend that the Eastern Park Football Club's senior cricket grades would like to forget.  Not one of our three teams managed a good result for the club.  Our A grade side was thumped in their match against Central Districts who only lost 2 wickets in their chase of the paltry total of 147.  A day to forget no doubt.   Come on Lads,  a win would be something we could all celebrate.

Our B grade side suffered the same fate as our A's with a substantial loss in their match with Paralowie.  Unfortunately, the lads didn't even manage a  total of 100, falling 10 runs short in a disappointing result.   The C grade side although going down to Sandy Creek still performed well and were only beaten by a small margin. t would seem that the Eastern Park Football Club's A grade cricket team is allergic to winning.  In what has been a forgettable year, another loss was registered on the weekend, with the side going down to Salisbury West who were only one rung further up the ladder than last placed EPFC.  Lets hope our lads will finish off the season with a few more wins.

Our B grade, side however are fairing much better in their season this year.  In their home match against Salisbury West they came away with a good win losing 5 wickets in their chase of the opposition's total of 171.  The C grade side also had a win in their match against South Gawler but at this stage no details of the match have been supplied.

Our A grade capitulated once more in their one day match against Brahma Lodge, only managing a mere 108 in reply to a less than dazzling 157.  This was another one our boys let go.  This loss sees us firmly positioned at the bottom of the grade 1 ladder.   Our B grade team came up against the second placed Central United side and were outclassed on the day.  EPFC made 171 in reply to the oppositions 5 for 207.  The C grade were the shining lights for our club this week with a great win over Craigmore.  Our boys made 6 for 161 and bowled the opposition out for a measly 68. Keep it up Demons!!

Our A grade side is not having the best of seasons currently, registering another loss for the year against Sandy Creek this weekend.  Our side batted first and only managed 149 with the opposition reaching the target for the loss of only 2 wickets, (2 for 153).   The A grade side languishing at the bottom of the Grade 1 ladder.  To see the current ladder  use the menu results>cricket>senior ladder or click Here.   The B grade side are fairing a little better this season and are currently 3rd on the ladder.  They played Willaston on the weekend and accounted for them comfortably.  The lads bowled the opposition out for a paltry 48 but still lost 5 wickets in their chase for the runs.   Two Wells were too strong for our C grade side in the away game.  Our team managed 127 in reply to the opposition's 145 but the teams sits on top of the grade 7 ladder after 7 rounds.  Keep it up lads.

Our Juniors sides still have a break and will recommence on the 17th January 2004.       For all the results that have been supplied check the results > cricket menu.
